A well preserved, spacious and stylish update of the designer Sussanne Khan’s Natasha Poonawalla’s Pune farmhouse, is integrated into a luxurious green environment. 1. The farm covers a total of 100 ha.

The weekend home of Poonawallas is located in a studio farm of 100 acres 24 kilometres away from Pune. The two-story bungalow, with its white walls, turrets and low-pitched tiles, is surrounded by exotic flora. That’s not what you could expect. When visitors enter the residence, a marble statue of a winged Greek goddess is greeted.

2. The address The address It belonged originally to the Mahindra family.

The Mahindra family bought and restored the property from Villoo Poonawalla, the late wife of Cyrus Poonawalla in 2009. The family began to visit the farm less and less after her death, and the present arrangement became obsolete. The daughter-in-law of the family, Natasha was the one who decided to revitalise the estate.

3. A prominent Conservatory is 19 feet away.

Architect Rajiv A Palshikar, Sussanne, mentioned that he built a 19-foot conservatory in record time and quickly became Natasha’s favourite space. It’s undoubtedly! A glass ceiling, an art deco lighter which enables natural light to enter, is a self-contained concrete and wood chamber. The environment is ideal for entertaining and transporting guests to a different world.

4. In this farmhouse the Poonawallas hosted the Royal Family.

This house was designed to accommodate guests at weekends and many dinners with its rebuilt and finished architecture and big doors and windows that are full of light. During Prince Charles’ official visit to India the Duchess of Cornwall remained at this residence.

5. There are plenty of motives in the house.

Rivets and tacking are available throughout the house as are handmade saddles, both traditional equestrian motifs. The walls decorate racing memorabilia and a multitude of antique models, so sports arts are not too far behind.
