Goa: The ‘Goan mindset’ Of This House.
Leaving the glitz and glamour of tourist traps, Assagao is a quiet and beautiful village in Goa. You can see from a distance picturesque Portuguese cottages, quiet but distinctly nestled in the woods. This is one of those eye-catching villa designed by Isprava. “Goa is a good place, and so should your home. You should feel like forgetting and being ready for a holiday about your town.” According to Sarah Sham, Essajees Atelier main designer, the company that created this house.
Entrance
Trellis with a lush green canopy in the entrance hall sets the tone for the ‘holiday environment.’ A long stone path leads to the arched double doors. The tunnel leads to a swimming pool, the main attraction of the house.
Family Room
The white decor and the view of the pool create an atmosphere of excellence and sophistication. The use of white and light colours makes it even brighter while the room has plenty of natural light. The living room combines maritime and tropical styles with clothing emphasis, anchor patterns and a bar shaped up boat. Plants and a pool view enhance the relaxing atmosphere.
Towels of paper
A powder room in the ground floor consists mainly of black and white Indian marble. Bohemian atmosphere is created by the wide arched mirror, wood frames on the wall and the fading windows, and the round-top suspended faucet.
Room of the girl
In this pink-dominated room on the ground floor are tiles from Bharat Floorings. “To make things appear, as a sparkle of colour, as someone threw some tiles to the floor,” explains Sham. The bed was handcrafted on the spot, complete with a plush headboard. Chor Bazaar’s old plates have been gathered and hung in a nook. The room also overlooks the main swimming pool.
A room for his son
A landing with mirrored wooden arches, included as an architecture element, is accessible to this top-level Room. The walls are blue and green, while the tiles are geometrically designed. This is reflected in the blue headboard.
The Master Suite
The room features an antique air with a four-poster bed. Patterned vintage-style tiles create a rug-like bedside pattern. The accommodation leads to a patio overlooking the property. In the connected master bathroom, you can find checked tiles and a darker colour scheme.
