The Twist pendant features a hexagonal tube of rippled glass. The light is created by artisans who twist it three times in one direction and then three times in the opposite direction over a hot flame.

Because the technique requires a high level of control and sensitivity, the artisans are unable to work with gloves and must instead rely on metal tools to safely manipulate the glass. Shakff compares the process to dancing.

“Like any dance, creating a twist requires a dedication to technique,” Shakff explained. “As with dance, intuition and a sense of the craft are critical here.”

The finished pendants, which can be made in any shape or size, are said to reflect light in swirls across the room.

The Twist is available in clear or frosted glass, and the two can be combined in a single arrangement.
